The Property

Nestled on 25 acres, Arc’s ranch has three primary dwellings and seven bungalows currently being renovated.

Central Unit, Ceasar Chaves

The main structure is a majestic 1750-square-foot ranch house with a clay tile roof. It features an open-concept kitchen, dining, and living space with a sunset view, high vaulted ceilings with dark wood beams, wood counters, and colored concrete flooring. There is a highly efficient, clean-burning Jotul cast iron wood-burning stove with central heating and air conditioning. A washer and dryer are nestled in the secondary bedroom. A Bosch dishwasher is among the kitchen appliances. Glass sliding doors open to a patio with a sizable fire pit surrounded by built-in seating and covered in river rocks. Two outdoor clawfoot tubs with hot and cold running water, as well as a wood-burning hot tub, are accessible via a wooden terrace and pathway—additionally, a hot and cold outdoor stone-based shower in the woods.

The primary bedroom has a king-size bed. And the second room has both a king-size and twin bed making it perfect for adults with small children.

Second Unit, Nelson Mandela

The house is divided into two wings. The south wing is an open space with a queen size bed on the ground floor and a king and queen bed in the loft space. The three beds accommodate 6.

The north wing of the house has two rooms with accommodations for 8. Each room has two sets of twin-sized bunk beds. There is an adjacent full bathroom that is shared with the south wing.

Third Unit, Mother Theresa

This one-room bungalow has a small kitchen and three beds: One queen-size and two twins. It also has a private patio with a propane grill for cooking.

Internet

Internet service is via Wi-Fi. If you have Verizon or AT&T and Wi-Fi enabled calling on your phone, you can use your cell phone to make and receive calls.

Ceaser Chaves and Nelson Mandela have 4K flat panel TVs that stream movies via the internet. Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and other content provider apps are preloaded on the TVs. Verizon hotspots provide internet service.

Trails

Bring your hiking shoes and roam around and explore the property. If hiking, it is best to have boots or high-top shoes when walking the property year-round.

Tennis and Basketball Court

The 600-square-meter tennis court is located in the woods. It is in a grove of majestic oak trees and is used for basketball and tennis.

Wildlife

Not to alarm, but you should be aware it is the country, and mother nature’s little critters sometimes appear. Various bugs and lizards are not uncommon. We have not had many rodents, but we keep a few mouse traps in the houses if one should get in. Ant spray is held under the kitchen sinks.

Though rare, there are rattlesnakes and a possibility of running across one in the summer and fall when the weather is warm.

Please habitually close the doors when you enter and exit the houses. Keeping little critters out is more manageable than catching them once they get in.

There are black bears and mountain lions in the surrounding mountains. A sighting happens occasionally, but it is rare for either animal to venture near the property. You may also see deer. They will meander through the meadow and orchard just after sunrise and before sunset.

Hunting is not allowed. And as a courtesy to the neighbors, we request that guests refrain from bringing or shooting guns.

Trash

Food or garbage must not be left out-especially overnight, as animals and insects mistakenly think dinner has been provided for their benefit. Bagged garbage can be stored in the garbage storage area when the kitchen and outside garbage cans become full.

Unfortunately, there is no community garbage pickup service, so we ask guests to be mindful of the amount of trash generated.

Fire

The area is a high-risk wildfire area. Therefore, campfires are not allowed if you stay at the house during the fire season (summer and fall).
